Friend,

Climate change is a real crisis. I entered politics because I knew we needed to keep building on our bold action and prioritize a cleaner, better future for all Canadians.

This campaign is crucial, and we’re ready to continue stepping up our fight against climate change. We’re ready to keep Canada moving forward – for everyone.

While Erin O’Toole has been clear that he would take Canada back to the climate inaction of Stephen Harper, a re-elected Liberal government will make investments that protect a cleaner, healthier environment for future generations. And in this campaign, we’ve already been making a series of important new green commitments, and we’re going to keep doing even more.

Earlier today, Justin Trudeau announced that, if re-elected, our Liberal team will move forward with an ambitious plan to accelerate climate action for more jobs, cleaner communities, and less pollution. We'll cut pollution by building a net-zero electricity grid and ending thermal coal exports, create cleaner communities by making it easier and more affordable to own a zero-emission vehicle, and create new jobs in the clean economy while supporting all workers to ensure no one is left behind.

We’ll support the training of 1,000 new firefighters to help monitor and contain wildfires across the country, and invest in the equipment they need to fight fires and stay safe. We will help Canadians make their homes more resilient from the impacts of climate change, and we’ll partner with the private sector to innovate climate adaptation, including by lowering insurance premiums that would save Canadians money.

Friend, Canadians need us to act now to keep people safe and healthy from these extreme weather events, and climate-related disasters.

These commitments build on the important progress our Liberal team is making to protect the environment. That includes record investments in more than 300 public transportation projects across the country, green infrastructure, and clean technology. We have also taken real action to ban harmful single-use plastics to keep our oceans clean, put an ambitious price on pollution, and accelerated Canada’s shift to net-zero emissions by 2050. On Saturday, we announced a "

right to repair " to limit waste, reduce pressure on our natural resources and encourage jobs in the circular economy, as well as further measures to recycle plastics.

Friend, with so much more to do, that’s why I’m reaching out to you today. We’re counting on your support at this crucial moment.

Canada can’t go backward to the divisive politics and failed Conservative policies – the decade of inaction – that did nothing to fight climate change and protect our environment, or to grow our middle class. Erin O’Toole’s Conservatives would cut less pollution, cost Canadians more, and cut the

Climate Action Incentive rebates that make life more affordable for Canadian families. In March, the Conservative Party even voted to deny that climate change was real. If they can't recognize the problem, how can they bring credible solutions? It’s no surprise that they support a plan where the more you burn, the more you earn.

There’s a lot at stake, friend. You’re at the heart of this movement, and we’re counting on you to help keep Canada moving forward.

If you’re able, chip in now to support Justin Trudeau and the 2021 Re-election Fund, and help our Liberal team keep Canada moving forward.
