This is not something we highlight often, because we don't like to give them any oxygen. But there are two Republicans officially running against Mike in CA-49. Both are trying to denigrate our progress with smears and attacks.

Here's how one of them is campaigning against us:

"Calling all American Patriots to get involved before it's too late. We must Take Back The House in 2022: No Excuses."

"Liberals in Washington support a socialist agenda that threatens our way of life."

"Voted HELL YES to RECALL Gavin Newsom."

While Election Day may be a ways away, we're drawing your attention to this because our race is poised to become one of the most competitive races in the country. National Republicans are aggressively targeting Mike in their bid to retake the House.

Mike doesn't accept a dime of PAC money which means it's going to take a ton of people chipping in small contributions to push back against our far-right opponents. And we wouldn't be sounding the alarm like this if we didn't need urgent help catching up to our goal.

Republicans will use words like "radical" and "socialist" because their actual arguments don't hold water or persuade voters against Mike.

The truth is we have delivered on an ambitious agenda -- which included expanding the child tax credit that is projected to cut child hunger in half. Mike has been a leader in addressing the climate crisis. He's rallying Congress to move the spent nuclear fuel stored at San Onofre, and has helped bring in hundreds of millions of dollars to clean the Tijuana River Valley and upgrade our coastal infrastructure.

While they push lies, we're sticking to the facts. And the fact is, too much is at stake to let CA-49 and Congress fall to far-right Republicans. We need consensus rather than conspiracy theories. We need a leader with a local focus -- not someone who will put loyalty to Trump and their party ahead of the American people.
