Folks,

When I first ran for Richmond City Council in the 1990s, I'm not sure I could have imagined how far Virginia would come in the next couple of decades. And more recently, in the past couple of years since taking the majority in the General Assembly, our progress has grown even more. From abolishing the death penalty to being the 38th state to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment to becoming the first state in the South to pass our own comprehensive Voting Rights Act -- I'm so proud of the voters and leaders of our incredible Commonwealth for fighting for our shared values.

The fact is, so many of the big steps that we’ve taken to make Virginia a thriving and welcoming state for everyone were unthinkable just a few years ago. And let me tell you this, friend -- if we don't hold on tight to our Democratic leaders in Richmond, it could all be taken away.

That’s what Glenn Youngkin, Todd Gilbert, and the rest of the Virginia GOP are trying to do. That’s what they’re campaigning on -- rolling back all the progress Virginia has made.

Now, I’m going to be honest with you. We have a great slate of candidates running this year. I believe that my friends Terry, Hala, and Mark have a good shot of winning their races -- but they can’t govern alone. If we want to protect Virginia’s progress, they need a majority in the House of Delegates, too.

My team and I have been staying in contact with the statewide campaigns and the staff over at the Democratic Party of Virginia HQ to get updates on how things are going. The DPVA staff asked me to reach out to you with this important request: Will you split a donation between the Democratic Party of Virginia and my team to ensure our Virginia Democrats have the resources they need to win?
