Hurricane Ida made landfall August 29 near Port Fourchon, Louisiana, as a Category 4 storm. Winds reached up to 150 mph. Louisiana residents are being urged to shelter in place until the storm passes. More than 500,000 people are without power. Severe flooding is an additional danger as levees have the potential to fail due to the extreme rainfall.

Louisiana governor, John Bel Edwards, stated, “Hurricane Ida is one of the strongest storms to ever hit Louisiana.”

The Unto® disaster response team is currently assessing the affected areas and connecting with local staff members to determine our next steps. We invite you to help equip disaster relief teams as they respond.

You can help provide critically needed supplies that will assist victims of natural disaster, supplying immediate aid for the displaced and then helping them rebuild their lives.

Disaster relief supplies include items such as:

  • Meals for hungry families
  • Water filters that supply safe, clean water when water sources are compromised
  • Tarps for emergency shelter
  • Hygiene items that promote health and sanitation

Will you give a gift today to support the Unto Disaster Relief Initiative and meet people at their point of need? Because we deliver aid through trained ministry teams, relationships are built, and at the proper time conversations about the eternal hope of Jesus can take place.

Thank you for expressing the kindness of Jesus through humanitarian aid — many people will be helped, and hope will be revealed, because of your generosity.

I would like to give:
