We fought like hell to elect AOC and now all eyes are on her as she
endorses a candidate for president. It’s all the press can talk about
today! Together we’ve shown that our grassroots movement can capture the
attention of the nation.

But the reality is that Bernie’s Medicare for All and AOC’s Green New Deal
won’t be passed in a Congress full of corporate Democrats.

Imagine if we had Justice Democrats in Congress in 2009 — we could have
pushed President Obama into supporting a more progressive proposal than
the Affordable Care Act. Instead, the White House decided to compromise
with conservative, corporate-backed Democrats instead of progressives
because of the balance of power in Washington.

The fact is that we have more power than we did then. But we need to keep
building our forces in Congress. We’re working each and every day to
transform the Democratic Party into a party that fights for voters, not
big corporate donors. And we’re dedicating our resources to supporting
these primary challengers.

I know that together we can create the future we’re striving for. A future
with economic, racial, social, and environmental justice for all people.
