I’m writing to you at a critical time for our country. Since President Biden took office, vaccination rates are up and the economy is starting to move again. But make no mistake: There is still a lot of work left to do on behalf of the American people. When Democrats campaigned in the last election we ran on more vaccines, lower health care costs, bigger paychecks, and cleaner government. And I’m very proud to say we’ve been working diligently to deliver on all of that and more.

Thanks to the fabulous leadership of President Biden and House and Senate Democrats, the American Rescue Plan was signed into law less than two months after the inauguration. This monumental bill provided a crucial lifeline to Americans struggling to make it during the pandemic.

It ramped up vaccine distribution, got sorely needed checks in the hands of working families, provided aid for struggling communities and small businesses, and could even cut our country’s child poverty rate in half thanks to the expanded child tax credit. That is a BIG DEAL.

And don’t you think for a minute that we’re stopping there. Our pledge for cleaner government starts with H.R. 1, which would end partisan gerrymandering, protect voting rights, and establish public financing for campaigns. House Democrats have already passed it, but we need to keep working to build support in the Senate.
