Safe, affordable housing is a basic human right. The eviction moratorium has protected millions of Americans during the pandemic-related shutdowns. Over 7 million people are still behind on rent payments -- just because of COVID-19.
Without eviction protections, people will be forced to leave their homes, and they will face even greater risk of contracting the highly-contagious Delta variant as it surges across the country.
Unless Congress immediately passes the Judiciary Act and expands the Court by four seats, the illegitimate Republican supermajority on the Supreme Court will continue to rule in favor of money over people.
