Subject: The cost of inaction
If you've seen the latest headlines, you know that the House GOP fundraising numbers are no joke.
According to figures from the NRCC, the National Republican Congressional Committee has raised $86.3 million so far this year, which it says is more than it raised during the entirety of 2019, the last off-election year.
And to make matters worse, Republicans only need to flip five seats to take back the House.
There is simply too much at stake for us to fall behind in our fundraising goals now, John.
Democrats need strong fundraising -- so our progress on infrastructure, health care, climate change, and relief for working families is not undone by a Republican majority.
Inaction means:
More folks struggling to take care of their children without paid leave;
More decay of our infrastructure without investment;
More inaction on climate making deadly drought and heat waves worse;
And more dismantling of our voting rights and erosion of our democracy.
John, we need to build a better present and future for our families and communities. That starts with maintaining and expanding our House majority so we can continue to work towards passing legislation that will have a positive impact on communities nationwide.
