John,
I entered the FL State Senate in 2017 as the first Latina Democrat Senator in its history. This was more than a personal honor; it means that I can identify with so many of the challenges that our working families face here in South Dade. I was able to help pass numerous bills into law, and I’m especially proud of the progress we made on disaster preparedness, environmental protection, stronger child welfare programs, transparency in healthcare costs, and support for our veterans and first responders. These issues are at the heart of our community, and making meaningful progress in these areas is critical to building a better Florida for our kids to inherit.
Government is about public service, and for me, that means ensuring that Floridians can count on their leaders to bring them value for their tax dollars. I have always been focused on building on what we’ve already accomplished to make healthcare accessible and affordable, fix our broken immigration system and protect immigrant communities, rebuild our public education system, and eliminate senseless gun violence. These issues affect Floridians every single day, and I’m honored you’ve put your faith in me to solve them.
I’d like to give you my word that no matter what office I hold, I will continue to fight for efficient, smart public policy that ensures all Floridians can lead happy, safe, and healthy lives for generations to come.
Yours in the fight, Annette Taddeo
