Thinking Theologically Discussion Courses

Thinking Theologically provides intellectual renewal through small group, discussion-based courses focused on a single concept, theory or reading. Together we’ll connect these theological thoughts to aspects of congregational ministry, including preaching, community formation, age-level ministry, pastoral care and community involvement. See the fall offerings and sign up at www.moumethodist.org/thinkingtheologically

Hurricane in the Gulf

We pray for the people of Louisiana and surrounding states as Category 4 Hurricane Ida nears and makes landfall on the 16th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. The United Methodist Committee On Relief  is monitoring the extreme winds and storm surge Ida could bring. In coordination with conference disaster response coordinators, UMCOR will assess the storm’s impact and respond to immediate needs. Support the UMCOR disaster response by donating at https://umcmission.org/advance-project/901670.

Registration Closing Soon: Leading in Uncharted Territory with Tod Bolsinger

For the better part of a generation, the church has faced a rapidly changing world, one that has pushed the church out of the center of the culture to the margins. Then COVID-19 happened, and the disruption to church as we knew it accelerated. Join us on September 9 for a workshop on learning to lead all over again in a totally disrupted environment. Tod Bolsinger, author of Canoeing the Mountains and Tempered Resilience, will serve as our guide into the uncharted territory. Space is limited for this IN-PERSON event. Learn more and register at https://www.moumethodist.org/eventdetail/15287435?month=9&year=2021&day=1&display=m
