This past week was an incredibly tragic one for our nation. The folly of President Biden’s misguided and rushed withdrawal plan is now apparent for the whole world. The thirteen members of our military who lost their lives in the jihadist attacks in Kabul will always be remembered for their service and sacrifice.
The situation continues to grow dire. The Wall Street Journal editorial board had this to say: “Thursday’s attack all but guarantees that thousands of Afghan allies and some Americans will be left behind when the evacuation ends...An estimated 1,000 or so Americans are still in the country. Some of them may have to rely on diplomacy with the Taliban to get out once all American troops leave on Aug. 31. In other words, they will essentially be hostages.”
We should not tolerate reckless foreign policy that virtually guarantees a crisis involving American hostages. Please call your two U.S. senators and your representative in the U.S. House to demand accountability and oversight. They need to hear from us!
