The Supreme Court’s notorious 5-4 Citizens United decision in 2010 opened the floodgates to a torrent of corporate money — including buckets of secret money — being spent to elect and defeat candidates.

And when it comes to resources, the GOP has been amassing huge sums to promote their agenda and elect their favorite right-wing candidates. So far this year the Republican National Committee has raised nearly $80 million with the help of dark-money donors, and Donald Trump has helped raise another $56 million to defeat Democrats.

That’s what we’re up against as we prepare for the 2022 midterm elections AND fight to protect our democracy.
