Are you registered to vote in California? Do you have one of these?
If not, you need to fix that, and you need to do it TODAY, as today, August 30, is the voter registration deadline for the recall election.
** Make sure you’re registered to vote
------------------------------------------------------------
First off, if you think you’re already registered to vote, check your voter registration: [link removed]
If you've moved, it may be out of date. If you've missed some elections, it may be inactive. In either case, you’ll need to update your voter registration ([link removed]) .
TODAY, August 30, is the last day to update your registration—or to register for the first time—and get a ballot mailed to you for the #CaliforniaRecallElection.
If you don’t do it by today, you'll have to vote in person, and it will take extra long since you’ll have to also register to vote then.
So, you should either register to vote right now, or make a plan now for when you’ll do it later today. Put it on your calendar, set alarms, whatever you need to do.
** Get your ballot in the mail
------------------------------------------------------------
If you register by today, you’ll get a ballot mailed to you in an envelope like the one shown above.
If you are registered but haven’t gotten a ballot, or maybe someone in your household threw it out or misplaced it (it happens!), you can request a new one using SF’s Voter Portal ([link removed]) (or, if you live in a different county, by contacting your county’s registrar of voters). They’ll mail it to you.
Either way, look for that blue-and-white envelope in your mail. Make sure everyone in your household knows it’s coming so it doesn’t get misplaced or trashed.
** And then VOTE!
------------------------------------------------------------
Make a plan NOW for how you’ll cast that ballot once it arrives. See our step-by-step instructions ([link removed]) for details on filling it out (vote NO to keep Gov. Newsom!) and mailing it or dropping it off.
Keep Fighting,
