| Show Up For Transit! | Events are being added as they're confirmed - check transitmonth.org for the most current info! | | | Transit Month Is Here - Let's Ride! After Muni rolled out more service earlier this month, average daily rides increased by over 50,000. When we have good transit service and coverage, people use it! | | | So this Wednesday, September 1, you can start logging your transit rides in our #TransitRideContest and win prizes! Every ride you log gives you another entry into our raffle. We're also giving weekly and monthly prizes for most rides logged, best transit pictures, and best transit stories. We included categories for pictures and stories so you can win even if you don't or can't ride transit all the time. Help us tell the story of all the people who love transit, who depend on transit, and who want to see San Francisco and the Bay Area build the transit future we need! With our vaccination rates and mask usage, transit is no more risky than going to a grocery store or a restaurant. So grab your mask, hop on board whenever you can, and win prizes! | | | | | Kick Off Transit Month: Spread the Word, Visit Our Transit Hubs Share pictures of your rides this Wednesday to kick off the month! Need a place to go? Visit one of our Transit Hubs and get your transit gifts! Use hashtags #TransitMonth, #RebuildMuni, and tag @SFTRU to tell folks you think transit is important. While you're at it, invite your friends and followers to sign our petition! | | | We could use a few more helping hands. Sign up to staff a table for an hour or two - meet riders, give out goodies, and talk to folks about rebuilding Muni! You can find us at the following locations: - 3rd Street & Palou (8:00-10:00 a.m.)
- West Portal station (4:00-6:00 p.m.)

Let's make sure they meet their constituents and hear how popular and important Muni is! We're confirming locations around the city to meet up around 8:00 a.m. to ride Muni together to City Hall. If you can't make the ride-along, please meet us at City Hall by 8:45 to show your support for awesome public transit. Let us know you'll be there - sign up to help out and check the box next to September 8. | | | | | | | September 10: East Bay Rally | | | Join our friends East Bay Transit Riders Union, Seamless Bay Area, Genesis, and SPUR Oakland for a rally in Latham Square in Oakland. Bring your questions! | | | | | Reducing Emissions, Improving Transit Let's talk about the role of good transit in meeting our climate goals with Director Raphael of SFE, Planning Director Sarah Jones of SFMTA, and Engineer and Planner Theresa Whinery of Fehr & Peers. | | | | | Transit Safety For All Join us for a panel discussion on innovative approaches to transit safety in the Bay Area, and how it must center the diverse experiences and needs of those who ride. | | | | | | | | | | | On October 1, we'll hold our 4th annual Rider First Awards party (outdoors, vaccinated, time and location coming soon), along with East Bay Transit Riders Union, Seamless Bay Area, and Friends of Caltrain. We need YOUR nominations for people who have made life better for transit riders in the past year - a special bus driver, an effective advocate, whoever is responsible for the transit lanes or boarding island that makes your ride better and smoother (if you tell us what they did, we'll track down the people!). Who is the hero you've seen, who cares about public transit and cares about the riders, and has taken action to improve our ride? Let us know! | | | | | | | | | | | | |
