The elected leaders discussed COVID-19's impact and the region's response, economic and workforce development, and housing in the Northern Virginia region.

The elected leaders that joined the discussion were Arlington County Board Vice Chair Katie Cristol, Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Chair Jeff McKay, Loudoun County Board of Supervisors Chair Phyllis Randall, Prince William County At-Large Chair Ann Wheeler, and City of Alexandria Mayor Justin Wilson. NBC4's Northern Virginia Reporter, Drew Wilder moderated the program.

LAST CALL: Board of Directors Call for Nominations

The Arlington Chamber of Commerce is calling for nominations to our Board of Directors. We are looking for enthusiastic, driven leaders that are passionate about the Chamber and want to help us expand membership and achieve our mission.

To be considered for Board service, a Chamber member must be in good standing and be able to fulfill the following responsibilities:

  • Prepare for and attend Board Meetings. Board members are expected to review the meeting packets in advance and attend regularly scheduled Board meetings.
  • Participate in Chamber Events and Activities. Board members are expected to demonstrate leadership and participate in events and other activities offered by the Chamber. In addition, Directors should encourage and assist members to do the same.
  • Support the Chamber Financially. In addition to their membership dues, Directors will pay an annual assessment set at $490 for 2021. Beyond this assessment, Directors should consider the Chamber as a focused recipient of community engagement resources from their organization.
  • Encourage others to join the Chamber. The foundation of the Chamber is a stable and growing membership. Directors should be champions of the Chamber and actively encouraging others to join.

View the full list of Board expectations. For any member wishing to nominate another member, member approval is requested. Please email nominations, including self-nominations, which are always encouraged, with the subject line "Board of Directors Nomination" to Kate Bates, Chamber President & CEO, at [email protected]. All nominees will be sent a survey for completion. The deadline for nominations is Tuesday, September 7.
