Hi there,

January 6 was a chaotic, emotional day for our country. On one of the darkest days in the modern history of our democracy -- on the eve of Trump leaving office -- hope for the future is what inspired me and kept me going. On the day we returned to Congress, I looked up and saw light coming through the Rotunda, and it renewed my belief that the promise of America is bigger than the damage done to our Capitol that day.

And it's going to take all of us working together to keep that promise:

But, there are candidates running for office all over the country who believe that the divisive and violent rhetoric of the insurrection is what America needs. They brag about attending Stop the Steal rallies and push the conspiracy theories of the Big Lie.

And one of those candidates is right here in NJ-03.

Republican candidate Tricia Flanagan launched her campaign with a racist attack ad against me that says that NJ-03 is "MAGA country" and that I'm not "one of us." She even tweeted at Sebastian Gorka, a xenophobic former Trump administration official with ties to neo-Nazi groups, and asked him for help with her campaign.

Rhetoric like this is why I need your support to stand against those who want to divide us with lies, violence, and disinformation. I know we've asked a lot of you lately, but we won't have good people in government unless good people like you stay engaged in the process. America functions best when we engage each other with civility and respect, knowing that even when we disagree, we are working toward a common purpose.
