John,
We wanted to give WFP supporters like you an honest update on what our online fundraising has looked like lately.
With less than 72 hours until the end of the month, we’ve only been able to raise half of what we did in August 2020.
But here’s the thing: While our fundraising has slowed down, our work certainly has not.
It’s not an overstatement to say that, over the next few weeks, we have a once-in-a-generation opportunity in Congress to win massive victories for working families. But the scale of our organizing will depend on our ability to reach fundraising goals like the one we’re staring down right now.
We are just $9,768 away from our $65,000 goal for August. Will you contribute $3 or whatever you can afford to help close our fundraising gap? Your grassroots dollars fuel the organizing needed to fight for working families in this country:

Once Congress returns from recess in September, there will be a sprint to make sure Democrats in Congress deliver on the promises they made to working families at the polls last year.
That’s why we’ve been working throughout the summer to bring together activists, organizers, and working people to raise the volume on Congress to pass our full jobs and care and climate agenda. And it’s why we’ve taken the fight directly to a handful of corporate Democrats in Congress who are standing in the way of that progress.
In the next few weeks, we have an opportunity to win historic victories like universal pre-K, expanding Medicare to cover hearing, dental and vision, making the $300 child tax credit permanent, lowering prescription drug costs, addressing the climate crisis, and taxing the rich and large corporations.
But we have a lot of work ahead of us, and our organizing depends on small-dollar contributions. Unlike the corporate Democrats trying to stop us, we rely on grassroots supporters like you to help us meet our fundraising goals — and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
That is why we’re asking: Will you chip in $3 or whatever you can afford to help us reach our $65,000 goal for August and fuel our movement in the months ahead?
In solidarity,
Team WFP
