We can’t afford to let a single AG seat slip away, and here’s why.
Team,
As we approach our critical end-of-month deadline, it’s impossible to overstate how important Democratic Attorneys General are to the American people. They are truly the People’s Lawyers, always advocating for our communities.
For four years, Dem AGs fought back against a cruel and vindictive administration for whom the people came dead last, whether it came to bailing out corporations or failing to curb COVID-19. Time and again, Dem AGs were instrumental in limiting the damage the Trump Administration could inflict on our communities.
But over the past few months, the role that Dem AGs play in our democracy has shifted. Under the Biden administration, these fighters now have new opportunities to protect our communities, safeguard our democracy, and build a fairer justice system for all of us. We can and will build back better after this pandemic.
Dem AGs have already accomplished some amazing things in the first few months of the Biden administration, team:
Virginia AG Mark Herring is fighting for homeowners in financial distress who were exploited by a foreclosure lender. We need to help AG Herring stay in office in 2022 so he can continue to protect vulnerable families from financial predators.
Nevada AG Aaron Ford is working to rebuild trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve, He pushed for Nevada’s Senate Bill 50, which restricts the use of no-knock warrants, and Assembly 58, which empowers the AG Office to investigate allegations of unlawful policing.
Wisconsin AG Josh Kaul has delivered for workers by securing a $650,000 settlement on behalf of Wisconsinites who were wrongfully fired without warning in December of 2019. We need AG Kaul to win another term to keep defending working people.
Minnesota AG Keith Ellison is launching a new partnership with the Justice Department to overturn wrongful convictions in the Minnesota justice system. He is blazing the trail for a more just system where innocent Americans won’t be wrongfully convicted. This work has never been more important than it is right now, and he needs the space and time to continue building on it.
Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and with more than 30 AG seats up for grabs in the next two years, we need your support – will you chip in today?
