Although I've been an elected official for nearly a decade now, I'll be the first to admit that running for Congress is both new to me and more challenging than past campaigns.
Out of necessity, I've quickly learned how expensive these races are and how crucial early fundraising is to build the kind of momentum that's critical to winning. Asking people to invest in my campaign isn't natural to me, nor easy, but I remind myself every day how important it is for Suffolk County and the entire country that we flip this seat and secure a significant House majority that will put working families first.
And so, once again I am reaching out for your help.
By now, you probably know about the National Republican Congressional Committee outraising Democrats by millions of dollars last quarter. And you know if we lose our House majority, the far-right will continue to obstruct commonsense policies at every turn.
But here's what I hope you know, John: I am in this race for you and your family.
Every day I'm energized to put in the work to flip this seat blue because I know what's at stake for Long Islanders like you, and working people nationwide.
