John,
As the summer comes to a close and the school year approaches, it's more important than ever to be up to date on the latest COVID-19 news -- including mask mandates, vaccine locations, school guidelines, and more.
As cases continue to rise around our state and the country, we must take all necessary steps to stop the spread and keep our children and neighbors safe.
Governor Inslee announced last week that most state employees, health care workers, K-12 and higher education employees, and child care providers are now required to get fully vaccinated or risk losing employment.
John, getting vaccinated is the most important step you can take to protect yourself, your family, and your community from the worst effects of the coronavirus.
So please, if you haven't already done so, schedule your appointment for the COVID-19 vaccine today. For WA folks, you can find a vaccination site near you with this link.
Masks are also now required in all indoor settings for all Washington residents 5 years and up, even if vaccinated, and are necessary to prevent the spread of the highly contagious Delta variant.
We all have a part to play to stop the spread and keep each other safe. That means wearing a mask indoors, continuing to socially distance, and of course, getting the COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible.
Thank you for working to keep our community safe, John.
Wishing you and your family well,
Suzan DelBene
