John -- With the Census Bureau having already released the data states need to begin redrawing their electoral maps, we're rapidly running out of time to ensure the new maps are fair. Statewide elections and constitutional deadlines are approaching fast in some states, so we need to use every minute we have left fighting tooth and nail against would-be map manipulators across the country.
Luckily, we have a three-part plan to do just that... and your grassroots support will be critical to ensuring it succeeds:
Step 1: Shine a bright light on Republicans' attempts to gerrymander their way into unearned majorities using new tools that can easily detect potential map manipulation.
Step 2: Mobilize our grassroots army to advocate for fair maps at redistricting hearings occurring in key states all over the country, so officials know there will be consequences at the polls if they try to gerrymander their way into power.
Step 3: If necessary, support plaintiffs in lawsuits to protect the redistricting process.
Now, we've been preparing for this moment for years, and we're confident that with your grassroots support, we can beat would-be map manipulators and ensure our communities are fairly and accurately represented in Washington and in statehouses all over the country.
