[1]Women's March
John, I have a
question for you:
Have you ever seen something on social media and wasn’t sure whether it
was real? Far too often on our favorite social media sites like Facebook
and Twitter — there’s disinformation everywhere on all of our feeds,
causing confusion over what is fact or fiction.
The disinformation crisis in our country has reached a critical level.
From the January 6th insurrection that was incited by a false narrative
about a stolen election, to the struggles we face getting our communities
vaccinated — there are real and dangerous consequences from
disinformation. Especially since the rise of Trump, far-right and
extremist groups have been exploiting social media networks to disperse
disinformation that raises money for the far-right while eroding our
democracy.
Often, we hear from Women’s Marchers who’ve experienced disinformation
themselves or have loved ones who’ve been swayed by the disinformation
they’ve read online. [ [link removed] ]That’s why today we’re inviting you to take our
Social Media Survey so we can collect data and feedback to combat the
disinformation crisis and effectively help folks access the knowledge they
need to make safe, informed decisions.

Just recently, Republicans like Rand Paul and Marjorie Taylor Greene have
taken their COVID misinformation agenda to the next level on social media.
From posting tweets condemning mask mandates, to making videos declaring
war on the CDC — they are perpetuating the disinformation crisis online
and hurting our country’s ability to survive this pandemic.
Women’s March is currently assessing and combating the disinformation
crisis through our Digital Defenders program. We at Women’s March know
that so many women are the primary caregivers for so many families and the
key to vaccinating our communities.
That's why Women's March is focused on reaching women online, listening to
their concerns about the vaccine, and combating disinformation by sharing
the truth about the vaccines' benefits and safety.
But to do this work, we first want to understand what Women’s Marchers
like you are seeing on your social media feeds and understand any
experiences you’ve had firsthand with disinformation. [ [link removed] ]So please, if you
have five spare minutes today, please take our Social Media
Survey, John, and
share your story.
