John -- Every Republican in the House of Representatives voted against the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act when Speaker Pelosi brought it to the floor for a vote on Tuesday.
Out of the 212 conservatives who voted against the bill, five take the cake as some of the boldest opponents of the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.
Jim Jordan (Ohio House Rep.), Matt Gaetz (Florida House Rep.), Kevin McCarthy (House Minority Leader), Marjorie T. Greene (Georgia House Rep.), and Madison Cawthorn (North Carolina House Rep.)
Our team set an end-of-month goal of raising $28,758 by Tuesday at 11:59pm to fight back against foes of fair maps like McCarthy, Jordan, Greene, Cawthorn, and Gaetz. Will you make a one-time donation of $35? That's just $7 per House member who is standing in the way of fair maps and fair elections.

Here’s why Kevin McCarthy and Jim Jordan said they voted against the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act:
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy baselessly said: “What it does it makes Hollywood pretty much in charge of our campaigns... It goes against the constitution.”
Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan incorrectly claimed: “It’s never been easier to vote in America. [There is] a false narrative of voter suppression in Republican states.”
They’re both wrong.
The bill would restore provisions of the Voting Rights Act that the Supreme Court gutted eight years ago. That’s why we’re seeing unified opposition from Republicans in the House. These anti-democratic politicians are in favor of voter suppression and against allowing everyone in this country to be fairly represented in our democracy.
These five politicians, and many of their Senate colleagues -- from Ted Cruz to Rand Paul, will continue to mislead their constituents about provisions in this bill to convince enough senators to block its passage.
A major component of All On The Line’s strategy to achieve fair elections and fair maps is to pass important federal legislation. To do that, we need to fight back against distrustful, untruthful opponents of democracy.
We set an end-of-month goal to raise $28,758 by Tuesday at 11:59pm. If you donate right now, it will help us fight back against politicians like McCarthy, Jordan, Greene, Cawthorn, and Gaetz, who stand in the way of fair maps and fair elections.
