Texas’ draconian abortion ban (SB 8) is set to go into effect on September 1, and we need all hands on deck to support Avow Texas’ efforts to protect abortion access for 29 million people in Texas and hold lawmakers accountable for their votes to restrict access to abortion. [[link removed]]

SB 8 bans abortion after six weeks of pregnancy — before many people even know they’re pregnant; which is a blatantly unconstitutional attack on Texans’ reproductive freedom. But that’s not all — it sets up a horrifying system of vigilantism by offering a bounty to anyone who successfully sues someone for helping a pregnant person seeking abortion care after about 6 weeks in pregnancy.

Avow is fighting against this heinous ban and working to secure unrestricted abortion care and reproductive rights for all Texans through community-building, education, and political advocacy.
