I just returned from Washington where I joined my colleagues in passing President Biden's ambitious budget blueprint. Among other things, this bill advances major climate initiatives, universal pre-k, Medicare expansion, and an extension of the child tax credit.

This is a continuation of our effort to build back better and get working families on their feet after the pandemic. It also puts us on track to avoid some of the devastating consequences of the climate crisis.

Predictably, our opposition is focusing on the bill's price tag. I'm more interested in what it will cost if we don't act -- especially with regard to addressing climate change. But the fact is, my Republican opponents are already preparing to attack me. They'll use predictable buzzwords like "socialist" and "radical" to denigrate our progress.

I'll never shy away from my values or doing what’s right. But I need your help to set the record straight and counter the attacks coming our way:
