I wouldn't reach out to you like this if it weren't important, but as Val Demings’ finance director, I'm seeing a pretty alarming trend: A brand-new poll shows our campaign trailing Marco Rubio by just 2 points, but donations have drastically declined over the past 48 hours!

We're way behind where we need to be this month, just as Marco Rubio and the Senate Republican campaign arm are raking in at least $32 million combined.

National Republicans alone are spending $10 million right now on voter registration in Florida – and when Florida's last Senate race was decided by 0.12 percent (10,033 votes), that investment could tip the scales.

Missing tonight's goal risks both Val Demings' and Democrats' chance at expanding our Senate majority. I just calculated our budget, and we need to raise $16,784 to close our fundraising gap. We aren't giving up on Florida or this race – so the Congresswoman suggested I reach out to you and explain the stakes of tonight's fundraising goal. So I have to ask, friend:
