Friend,

The latest UN-organized climate report is shocking: We are no longer
facing a pending climate crisis. It’s already here.

According to the world’s best research, we are not going to avoid the 1.5
degrees Celsius limit the Paris Climate Agreement set as the level we need
to stay below to avoid exponential environmental disaster. We are already
seeing the beginnings of catastrophe -- floods, wildfires, and rising sea
levels. And no one is doing enough to try to turn the crisis around.(1)

One of the culprits is bottled water, which a study just showed has a
massive impact on the ecosystem. This is just another one of the reasons
we must stop BlueTriton and Nestlé from stealing California’s water.

water?

The research shows that the impact of bottled water on ecosystems is a
staggering 1,400 times that of just drinking tap water.(2)

That includes the 17 million barrels of oil needed to produce the plastic
bottles, as well as the pollution that occurs when these bottles end up in
landfills and streams. It also factors in the stress on the land from
taking the water out of our overused aquifers, like in the San Bernardino
Forest.(3)

This comes on the heels of a new report showing that BlueTriton siphoned
58 million gallons of water from the forest last year alone.(4) In the
middle of a drought caused by climate change, we cannot afford to lose one
more drop.

It’s time to shut down BlueTriton for good. Courage California has
partnered with Story of Stuff and SumOfUs to pressure the U.S. Forest
Service to end BlueTriton’s permit for California’s water. We’re ramping
up our campaign. Will you donate to keep the fight going?
