Africa & Europe
Praise God for the public commitments from Romania’s current prime minister to address human trafficking, including a dedicated department focused on vulnerable groups. Pray for unprecedented change in legal and administrative procedures, increased resources and political will to protect victims of human trafficking, including funds that will be needed to ensure victim protection.
Latin America
Praise God for the opportunity to facilitate a series of training sessions for law enforcement officials in El Salvador on investigation techniques, criminal analysis and crime scene investigation. These trainings are key to improving the capacity of the system to respond to violent crimes in the most effective way. Pray for the trained officials as they serve the most vulnerable and help bring justice.
South Asia
Please pray for the safety and health of IJM aftercare staff and partners as they resume community engagements while pandemic restrictions are easing. Their priority will be visiting families recently rescued from bonded labor who are beginning to rebuild their lives in freedom. IJM offers multi-day Freedom Training that includes teaching basic skills, like setting up bank accounts and registering children for school to help survivors move forward on a firm footing.
Southeast Asia
Praise God for a successful and fruitful workshop led by the IJM Philippines National Prosecution Development team on Videotaped In-Depth Interviews (VIDI). VIDI will empower children impacted by online sexual exploitation to share their testimonies in a safe, comfortable environment away from their abusers. Please pray that those who attended the workshop will be able to implement what they have learned and use VIDI to protect children while bringing justice to abusers.
