Letwin has passed.

This is a major victory in the battle to stop Brexit.

We’ve bought ourselves valuable time. Crucially, this shows that MPs do not trust Boris Johnson not to run us off the cliff edge of a no deal Brexit.

The Prime Minster tried to strong-arm Parliament into rushing into his deal. Parliament won’t be duped. Our MPs have shown that they don’t trust him and they don’t trust this deal.

Parliament need to be allowed proper oversight of any deal. This deal is worse than even Theresa May’s effort. It would be terrible for the country, the economy and our NHS. We badly need an extension.

The Government has been caught out again. It’s another humiliation for the Prime Minister who can’t win a parliamentary vote. It’s a huge blow to Johnson’s administration.

The hundreds of thousands of people who turned out for the March today shows that the people want an extension and want a Final Say vote. We are united in opposing this shambolic deal.

This is a big win. But there’s more to do.
