John,

There are the same number of Republicans and Democrats in North Carolina, but the GOP controls the state legislature AND both US Senate seats. Why, John? Because the GOP relies on voter suppression to win.

Thanks to a new North Carolina court ruling, the Republican party just lost some ground.

The court ruled that ANY citizen can now vote on community supervision -- including felony probation or parole. This voting rights expansion is a huge win for North Carolina, and for Senate candidate Cheri Beasley's journey to Washington.

Beasley was North Carolina's first Black woman to serve as state Supreme Court chief justice. And in November 2020, Beasley earned MORE statewide votes in her chief justice election than Republican incumbent Senator Thom Tillis. With her proven track record and this new ruling expanding the electorate, we finally have a real chance to flip North Carolina blue.

But the state Republican machine is formidable, and Democrats are acting like they've already given up. We've set a $1,500 goal in support of Beasley's campaign because we know she can't win unless she has all the resources necessary for such a consequential Senate race, but our supporters haven't contributed.

We're reaching out because we know you're a dedicated Democrat. You haven't given up on this hard fight, right? We need you to help us meet our $1,500 goal and elect Cheri Beasley.

Thank you for helping us flip North Carolina blue, John. There are currently ZERO Black women in the US Senate, so we're doing everything we can to make sure that sending Cheri Beasley to Congress paves the way for many more Black women to come. We couldn't do it without you.
