Last night, the U.S. Supreme Court struck down the Centers for Disease
Control’s recent targeted eviction moratorium, leaving as many as 11
million people across the country at risk of becoming unhoused.
In the midst of this ongoing pandemic, Congress must step up and take
action to stop this national eviction emergency and save lives.
Today, I led more than 60 of my colleagues in calling on Speaker Nancy
Pelosi and Senator Chuck Schumer to work with us to pass legislation to
extend the eviction moratorium for the duration of this pandemic.

in taking action right now by calling your representatives and urging them
to support congressional action to extend the eviction moratorium
immediately.

Safe, affordable housing is a fundamental human right, and evicting
families from their homes during a pandemic is cruel and immoral.
The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated an already rampant housing crisis —
one that disproportionately impacts Black and brown people, who are also
bearing the brunt of current public health and economic crises.
Make no mistake: If Congress does not act, the lack of housing protections
will lead to increased spread of COVID-19, more deaths, trauma and pain.
[ [link removed] ]We must pursue every option. Please, call your representatives to
urge them to take action now and support urgent congressional action to
extend life-saving eviction protections.
