Secretaries of State gathered for their annual National Association of Secretaries of State summer conference, and to say this year’s event was dramatically different than in years past would be an understatement. Who would have thought that a meeting of Secretaries of State would need briefings from the Department of Justice about death threats many of them face?
Unfortunately, after the widespread conspiracy theories spread by the far-right surrounding the 2020 election, this is the reality. Over the last year, Jena and her colleagues have been pushed to the frontlines of the fight for our democracy, battling both threats to democracy and their safety.
