Our Hill Team is desperate to get more money to help block Congress from granting amnesty for millions of illegal aliens! The House and Senate have already both passed a budget blueprint that includes plans for the amnesty, yet they've not yet written the actual bill. (So--no amnesty has actually passed--yet!) We've spent thousands, sometimes even tens of thousands, of dollars a day to convince them to come to their senses... and we are running out of funds we can spend on this quickly!

What Congress just passed is the $3.5 trillion "budget resolution." Unfortunately, this plan also tacks on an illegal alien amnesty that we believe could cover almost all illegal aliens! I want to stress that Congress has only approved the OUTLINE for the budget bill that will be put together over the next month. Since they are just now beginning to write the bill, every single thing covered in the budget blueprint CAN be changed as the bill moves through the process.

John, obviously NumbersUSA can't sit by while Congress sneaks through an amnesty when they think the country is not looking.

We plan to fight and defeat this amnesty, just as we've defeated all major illegal alien amnesties for the past 20 years!

I need your help personally to keep our amnesty defeat record at 100%. This is going to be agonizingly difficult, because Congressional Democrats are working to put a gigantic amnesty inside a budget measure that will be hard to untangle. Right now, the existence of an amnesty inside the budget blueprint has not attracted much press attention -- there are SO MANY OTHER things in the outline and, of course, in the news in general, to draw their attention.

It's OUR job to put a glaring spotlight on the amnesty. It's OUR job to point out that passing this enormous amnesty is GUARANTEED to kick off a stampede on the border, especially since it doesn't even include E-Verify or doing anything else to get our borders under control. Millions of would-be illegal aliens around the world will learn afresh that once you get into America, it's only a matter of time until you're given amnesty and citizenship.

If you've been reading our emails, you know that we have fought really hard for a month to get this amnesty out of the budget proposal. Our activists have poured tens of thousands of phone calls into Congress, mostly targeting the moderate Democrats in the House and Senate who will finally dictate what's in the budget bill.

We're NOT targeting Republicans as much as Democrats this time, because they are already united in their opposition to this amnesty. Unfortunately, the Democrats are using the budget process so they can pass it without any bipartisan support at all.

The budget bill is vulnerable, because many moderates do not want to vote for a bill so sweeping and so expensive. We need to make sure that when the moderates are picking the bill apart in backrooms, some of them insist that the amnesty just disappears.

We've had to spend ENORMOUS SUMS OF MONEY from our limited (non-tax-deductible) NumbersUSA Action fund to keep our members informed every step of the fight, to man the phone banks, to underwrite the toll-free phone lines, to pour faxes and emails onto Congress, and to lobby the heck out of them up on Capitol Hill to kill this monstrosity. Congress listens to our Hill team because voters, egged on by us, make phone call after phone call to their members of Congress.

This is an expensive strategy, but it works. We've used it to stop one amnesty proposal after another. This amnesty, however, will be the hardest to defeat in our history because, as I've said, it's one item in a huge budget bill that many Democrats are eager to vote for.

Yet again, NumbersUSA is being outspent by open borders organizations on this bill at least 100 to 1. A coalition announced a few months ago that they had raised a $50 MILLION fund to fight for amnesty and more immigration.

For us to fight and WIN this fight, I need to raise AT LEAST $150,000 by September 30. To raise it, I'm asking you, John, and all our major donors to make a significant contribution to NumbersUSA Action (501c4, non-tax-deductible) fund. (As you know, only Action funds can be used for these Congressional influence campaigns.)

John, would you please consider making a donation of $25? If things were not so desperate, I would not be asking this much. But I really, really do need your help.

They are challenging you and our regular donors to match this amount -- so that NumbersUSA Action will receive at least $134,000... but between seed money and this matching campaign, we hope to reach $150,000. Whatever you can afford to give, they'll match up to $67,000 or more...

For example, if you give $100, these donors match it dollar for dollar, so we end up with $200 to STOP THIS AMNESTY!
