Every year, more than 1.8 million LGBTQ young people are estimated to seriously consider suicide in the U.S. At least one attempts to take their own life every 45 seconds.

When LGBTQ young people feel lost, we’re there to let them know they’re not alone – whenever and wherever they reach out. That’s why we need your help.

Long before I became The Trevor Project’s CEO & Executive Director, I started as a volunteer TrevorLifeline counselor. Even today, as I continue to take my volunteer shifts on the lifeline, I hear from LGBTQ students who don’t feel affirmed at school.

I tell them that there may be people like their classmates and teachers who don’t accept them. But there are many people who not only will accept them, but also celebrate them — and I am one of those people. 

Friend, I know you are one of those people, too, and I thank you. As always, we will continue to do all we can to remind LGBTQ youth that they deserve love and support and the ability to live their lives without fear, discrimination, and violence. Please be as generous as you can.
