John, Fifty-eight years ago today, 250,000 Americans joined the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom to advocate for civil rights. Today, the march continues as we fight for our freedom to vote. We must ensure that every American has the freedom to vote and that the results of our elections reflect the will of the people. Join Rock the Vote at the March On for Voting Rights tomorrow, August 28, in Washington, D.C. No matter our race, background or zipcode most of us believe that for democracy to work for all of us, it must include us all. Extremist politicians have introduced more than 389 anti-voter bills in 48 states and passed some of the most egregious attacks on our freedom to vote in places like Georgia, Iowa and Texas. That’s why we need to learn about the legislation that Senators are considering to promote the freedom to vote nationwide. Learn about the For the People Act, the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, and how they would strengthen voting rights, and join us tomorrow at the March On for Voting Rights. March on, -Olivia Olivia Guerrieri |
