When it comes to abortion access, we are living in two different Americas….The right to abortion is affirmed on paper, but that right does not exist for those who cannot afford to navigate barriers like forced 24-hour waiting periods, no Medicaid coverage, and hours of travel to a clinic.”

[Texas] has put a bounty on the head of anyone who so much as gives a patient money for an abortion after six weeks. As a result, Texans will be intimidated out of helping their friends or loved ones seek abortion care for fear of being sued.”

This new law would open the floodgates to frivolous lawsuits designed to bankrupt health centers, harass providers, and isolate patients...The cruelty is the point — and we will not let it stand.”

We are days away from the September 1 deadline that S.B. 8 — Texas's extreme abortion ban — is set to take effect. We're doing all we can to block the harmful bill, and the damage it would inflict on people trying to get the care they need.
Planned Parenthood — along with our partners at Center for Reproductive Rights, the Lawyering Project, and the ACLU — have gone to court in Texas to fight back against the ban and ensure every single one of us has the right to control our bodies.
What's happening in Texas affects all of us. Even though abortion is still legal in all 50 states, the Texas law could inspire politicans across the country to enact similar, devastating restrictions on abortion access.
We're doing everything in our power to ensure that does not happen.
We need you to let us know that you're with us as we face this important battle. Use your voice to help defend the right to abortion for all people everywhere, no matter what.
Thank you for taking action to protect our rights,
Planned Parenthood
