Tell Washington That We Need Environmental Justice Investment in the Budget Reconciliation Package
Send an Email Today!

Right now, leaders in Washington are discussing the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, creating approval processes for construction and infrastructure projects and allocating budgets after finalizing the rules. We need to ask Congress to ensure that the provisions, technologies, and projects that support false "clean energy" solutions are not included in any final version of the infrastructure and budget reconciliation packages. Every dollar wasted there is a dollar that could be invested in renewable energy projects supporting low-income communities and communities of color.

Every 10 years, states redraw the maps for their federal and state election districts based on the results of the U.S. Census, with the goal of ensuring that these districts have nearly equal populations. Join us on Thursday, September 2 at 6:30 PM for a virtual Redistricting Workshop. We’ll explain the process, seek your input on the current districts, and teach you how to become an advocate for this. RSVP Today

Intro 2283 Passes

New York City Council Passes Bill to Strengthen Local Law 97

The New York City Council passed Intro 2283 yesterday. The bill will require the City to annually report the greenhouse gas emissions of buildings that it owns or operates, including State-owned New York City Housing Authority developments. This will help ensure that the City and its agencies are doing their part to reduce these emissions and meet the goals set by Local Law 97. It will also establish a mechanism to measure and report such emissions, thereby paving the way to establishing a mechanism to enforce Local Law 97. We thank Speaker Corey Johnson, sponsor Helen Rosenthal, and the rest of the New York City Council for passing this legislation. Now we need the Mayor to sign it into law!
