John, My grandfather was a Marine. He proudly served in Korea. And I can’t even imagine what he would’ve said after seeing the story in VICE News on Thursday. On a day when ten Marines were killed by an ISIS-K suicide bomber, VICE published a story smearing the United States Marine Corp. Their headline was, “Why are So Many Marines Neo-Nazis”. This would’ve come as a bit of a shock to my grandfather. You see, he was Jewish. According to the data highlighted by VICE, at least seven former Marines have openly avowed or been identified with neo-Nazism or the “extreme right”, with some alleged to have been involved in planned terrorist acts. While neo-Nazi’s and white supremacists have no place in the Marine Corp., this figure represents just 0.0032% of the Marines. Heck, seven Marines are less than the ten that lost their lives yesterday. And I can’t even imagine what VICE defines as the “extreme right”. After all, past articles from the publication have defined extremism as Supporters of the 2nd Amendment and anyone who watches Tucker Carlson. Let them know that if they’re truly upset by extremists, they should volunteer to fight the terrorists who killed our Marines. All it takes is a few clicks. Let’s make my grandfather proud.
