After an eventful end to the Senate work period in D.C., I returned to Wyoming to meet
with constituents around the state. As I've travelled from county to county, I've had the opportunity to talk to people from many different walks of
life. I ask them how they're doing, how they think I'm doing, and what they want to see us do in Washington. More often than not, they say to me,
"Cynthia, I'm worried about the direction of our country." My reply is always the same. SPACE I am too. space Things are heavy right now.
The world seems dark. The situation in Afghanistan is getting worse, not better. Our national debt is soaring out of control. We keep passing spending
bills with no plan to pay for them. Things seem grim. space But I haven't lost
hope. space
It's because of each and every one of you that I've had the chance to meet and
talk to over the years, and those I haven't yet had the opportunity to talk to. Each of you gives me hope that the America our ancestors built is an
America worth fighting for. space Our world is challenging, yes, but the America we
know and love is still there and I'm still fighting. I hope you will too, by being kind to your neighbor, helping out a stranger, and working toward
causes important to you. That's what makes America great and the world a better place. Happy Trails,
