Hi John,
We have witnessed a summer of inaction on vaccine inequality. As they sit on their stockpiles of doses, the UK, the EU and a few others are refusing to let the rest of the world produce the vaccines and medication they need.

Donations are starting to trickle in to Africa but only 2.4% of the population is currently vaccinated, with the WHO goal of 10% in each country by the end of September increasingly unlikely to be met.

Vaccine apartheid is an issue the whole world is talking about but we now need to grow this campaign, gain momentum and build on the progress we have already made.

Ahead of the next WTO meeting in mid-September to discuss the matter, we’ve organised our first activist assembly to End Vaccine Apartheid on Saturday 4 September.

This is an uncertain time for all of us but the world can’t wait. So we are picking up speed and re-starting our in-person organising. This September, come to our activist assembly to #EndVaccineApartheid. You can attend in person or take part online.

We will hear direct from people on the ground in some of the most severely impacted regions in the world. We will also learn about the successful organising activists have done in the US; how medical students campaign on access to medicines; how to organise more effectively on campus; as well as hear about the brilliant actions our own youth network and supporters have already done here in the UK.

** Help ensure Covid-19 vaccines are available to everyone, everywhere
------------------------------------------------------------

It’s vitally important that Covid-19 vaccine patents are suspended during the pandemic, and for big pharma to share their know-how globally, as the best way of ensuring there are enough vaccines for everyone everywhere.

Regular gifts give us the long-term stability to plan effective campaigns and the flexibility to respond to crises like these.
