Welcome to Friday, August 27th, associates,

Ten U.S. Marines, two soldiers, a Navy corpsman, and dozens of Afghans were killed in twin explosions at the gates of Kabul’s international airport on Thursday.

The terror threat in Afghanistan has been elevated following the Taliban’s takeover ([link removed]) . ISIS-Khorasan (ISIS-K or ISK) claimed credit for the suicide bombings.

Terrorists set off an explosion outside a hotel near the Hamid Karzai International Airport (HKIA). Almost simultaneously, a suicide bombing at a crowded entry gate into the airport is said to have occurred, which was then followed by a firefight.

Central Command released a statement that 18 wounded Americans have been evacuated on transport aircraft with surgical units on board. At least 90 Afghans are reported to have been killed and at least 150 wounded.
