John: In 1963, hundreds of thousands of people traveled to Washington, D.C. for the March On Washington to demand voting rights for Black Americans. Now, much like in 1963, our democracy is under assault. Since the beginning of 2021, more than 400 voter suppression bills have been introduced in 49 states; white supremacists attacked the Capitol in an attempt to block the peaceful transfer of power; and the 700,000 residents of D.C. are still being denied full voting rights and representation in Congress.

On August 28th, the 58th anniversary of the March On Washington, we're marching once more to call for a democracy where all Americans finally have full and equal rights. We will march for voting rights. We will march for D.C. statehood. We will march to ensure Black and Brown Americans have full access to our democracy.
