I’m Morgan – I was recently hired as the Political Director for Team Cori. I’m so excited to be on this team and help grow our movement as we work to save lives and deliver urgently needed change to St. Louis and communities like it.

In a moment, I want to share with you some thoughts about our priorities in Congress, the challenges we face in our polarizing political climate, and our strategy to support Cori moving forward.

Cori has made her mandate in Congress extremely clear: to save lives.

From introducing the Green New Deal for Cities with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the People's Response Act to transform our public safety system, and the Unhoused Bill of Rights to end our unhoused crisis by 2025, to leading a direct action outside the Capitol to extend the eviction moratorium — Cori has been an unapologetic leader in pushing for the policies we need to survive and thrive.

But her bold leadership hasn’t gone unnoticed: She’s been a MAIN target of attacks by the GOP, Fox News, and the far-right. White supremacists have been furious at our movement and have made countless violent threats on Cori’s life.

But the rise in attacks over the past months has made it even more clear to us that Cori’s seat in Congress isn't guaranteed and that it’s going to be an uphill battle to make sure we can continue making progress.

It’s going to take a grassroots team, a robust organizing strategy, and a people-powered movement to ensure Cori’s re-election and generate the momentum we need for Congress to take action.
