Friend, Labor Day is right around the corner. As we approach our celebration of America’s workers, we must include the millions of immigrant workers who have shown up every day, putting their lives on the line to help our country get through the COVID-19 pandemic. Join us Wednesday, September 1, as we recognize "The Underrecognized Workforce that Is Leading Us Through the Pandemic and to Recovery" and discuss how we can create a more just and equitable society that supports immigrant workers, including with a pathway to citizenship. The panel will include NILC Executive Director Marielena Hincapié, Senator Alex Padilla (D-CA), U.S. Representative Joaquin Castro (D-TX), and Resilience Force Executive Director Saket Soni, and the conversation will be moderated by Dara Lind from ProPublica and Vox’s “The Weeds”. |

Millions of immigrants, including undocumented immigrants and DACA recipients, are stocking grocery shelves, delivering food and critical supplies, helping to distribute tests, ensuring hospitals, hotels, schools, and other buildings are clean and safe, developing critical technology and science that led to the creation of the COVID vaccine, and helping to ensure that every American who wants to get a vaccination can get one. Public support for immigrant-inclusive policy reforms is at a historic high. This is the moment to make our voices heard — to finally get protections and relief for immigrants nationwide, including essential workers. Wednesday’s conversation is just the beginning. Will you join us? When? Wednesday, September 1, at 12 PM ET / 9 AM PT Where? Zoom — RSVP here to join! |
