Dear Colleague,
The UN agency responsible for advancing the rights of women around the world seems to be moving away from using the word “women” in an effort to include diverse gender identities. Feminist activists are divided on including biological males in women’s equality efforts. Alexis I. Fragosa Esq., reports.
Three years ago, the UN designated a day to remember the victims of violence based on their status as a member of a religious minority or of religiously-motivated acts of terrorism. Experts in the UN human rights system are intent on making the day about sexual orientation and gender identity as a basis for hate crimes. Rebecca Oas, Ph.D., reports.
C-Fam’s August webinar looks at how UN agencies are promoting abortion and sexualizing children in development and humanitarian programs. Please join us next Tuesday, August 31 at 11 AM ET. More information can be found here.
Be brave and remain hopeful.
Yours faithfully,
Lisa Correnti
Executive Vice President
