The day of Ashura, as observed by Shia Muslims, commemorates the Prophet's grandson Husayn ibn Ali (as), who was killed for standing up and speaking out against oppression, injustice, and inequality.
40 days after Ashura then marks Arbaeen (or Chehelom), another important observance in the Shia calendar. On this day every year, tens of millions of people gather in Iraq from all over the globe to stand against oppression - this event is the LARGEST annual peaceful gathering of?humans on the planet.
