To our Democrat Congressional Delegation: Hold Biden Accountable and GET OUR PEOPLE OUT!
CONNECTICUT – President Biden’s unprecedented failure in Afghanistan has led to the death of at least twelve US Service members, including 11 Marines and a Navy Corpsman. In addition, over 100 Connecticut residents are trapped in Afghanistan. Chairman Ben Proto today questioned why our Congressional Delegation has remained silent on this issue and called on the Connecticut Democrat Chairwoman, Nancy DiNardo, and the entire Connecticut Congressional Delegation to condemn Biden’s failure in Afghanistan. “There comes a point in time, as Chairwoman DiNardo has pointed out many times, when we must put aside our political affiliation and stand up for America” Proto said.
“It is deeply disturbing to me that the Connecticut Congressional delegation has remained silent and inactive while brave Americans are being massacred by suicide bombers – a direct result of the complete and utter disaster that President Biden and his administration has foisted upon America and our military. It is even more disturbing that our entire Congressional Delegation, led by Senator Blumenthal and Murphy, both of whom serve on powerful Senate committees with oversight, have failed to hold this administration accountable while so many of their constituents are endangered, left to an uncertain fate amid Taliban takeover in Afghanistan,” said Proto. “People are afraid right now, the families of those stranded abroad are afraid, their friends and neighbors are afraid and the complete lack of leadership by the Connecticut Congressional Delegation calls into questions whether their commitment is to a failed Democratic President or to the people they allegedly represent. Unfortunately, the very people elected to provide that leadership have remained silent in a time which the State of Connecticut needs them the most.”
“This national policy disaster by Biden and his Democrat enablers needs to be condemned and investigated,” said Proto. “The people of Connecticut deserve to have their voices heard. I call on Connecticut Democrat Chairman Nancy DiNardo to condemn Biden’s failure in Afghanistan and his refusal to act on the hundreds of stranded Connecticut residents who are endangered due to his incompetence. I further call on Chairman DiNardo to stand up and tell our entirely Democratic Connecticut Congressional Delegation to take action to bring our stranded citizens home.”
Proto went on to say that anything less than a full-throated rebuke of President Joe Biden will be seen as a further failure of the Connecticut Democrats in Congress.
