BSA Bankruptcy Impact on United Methodist Congregations in Missouri

Yesterday the General Council on Finance & Administration (GCFA) and United Methodist Communications issued a press release relating to the BSA Bankruptcy. The Missouri Annual Conference’s Office of Finance & Administrative Ministries, Director of Finance & Administrative Ministries, Rev. Nate Berneking, and the Conference Chancellor, Jordan Ault, recommend following the advice of GCFA and the named “ad hoc committee” that was tasked with representing and protecting the interests of United Methodist entities in the bankruptcy proceedings of the Boy Scouts of America. Associate Certified Coach Training

UMCOR Launches Haiti Response

The United Methodist Committee on Relief’s response to the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that rocked Haiti on August 14 is underway. The quake, which particularly damaged the southern and western regions of the island, has left more than 2,200 dead and 12,000 injured. UMCOR Supports Afghans in Need

Global Ministries and the United Methodist Committee on Relief have long-standing partners in Afghanistan, with projects and programs dating back to the mid-1960s. Through one project, UMCOR will provide cash assistance to displaced families residing in the Kabul area, enabling them to prioritize their most urgent needs such as food, shelter or medicine.
