🚨 A federal judge just blocked the Republican attempt in Tallahassee to undermine Amendment 4 (full story by Politico).

Earlier this week, expert testimony indicated that more than 75% of the people who stand to have their rights restored would continue to be disenfranchised under the Republican plan to require the payment of fines & fees (a move widely criticized as a poll-tax). After all, a huge percentage of those fees have been deemed unrecoverable based on inability to pay.

But, this ruling falls short of granting all the ability to register and vote. Instead, it's kicking things back to the Legislature to fix the mess they created and I have almost zero faith in it's ability to do so...

Look, we voted to restore their right to vote, and Republicans, again, think they know better. From class sizes, high speed rail, medical marijuana, and this, Tallahassee Republicans think they can undermine the rule of voters and I'm sick of it...
