John,
Today is Women's Equality Day — and as you read this, Women's Marchers are rallying on the steps of the Supreme Court to demand the ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment. Take a look:
Women's Equality Day commemorates the 1920 certification of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote — though full voting rights for women of color wouldn't be won until decades later.
In 2021, Women's Equality Day provides a stark reminder of just how far we still must go to guarantee equal rights under law and protect the rights that women have already won as the GOP attempts to turn back the clock.
That is why, to honor Women's Equality Day 2021, we just launched an ambitious goal to raise $5,000 for the Women's Equality Fund — and we're still behind where we urgently need to be before the day is over. Every single dollar raised for the fund today will directly power the urgent work Women's March is doing to defend against GOP voter suppression efforts, protect our abortion rights, and plan upcoming marches and mobilizations. That's why we're respectfully asking for your support:
In 2021, the fight for women's equality is more urgent than ever — even with Donald Trump kicked out of office. Today on the steps of the Supreme Court, Women's Marchers are gathered to say loud and clear:
We refuse to wait any longer for the full ratification of the ERA.
We refuse to return to a reality where women and people of color were purposefully denied access to the ballot.
And we refuse to go back to the days when women needlessly died from unsafe back-alley abortions.
Right now is a historic moment in which we must ALL fight back to defend women's hard-earned progress, so please consider making a special contribution in honor of Women's Equality Day:
Don't give up the fight,
Women's March
